Billabong Godfrey and Wingfield Boris

semen sells to

$400/straw

The 2nd Annual RSVP Invitational Online Semen Sale held on the 18th of June is fast being

recognised as the Elite Droughtmaster Genetics Shop Window. Held using the

Auctionsplus Interface with Elders acting as the agent. RSVP Droughtmasters along with

their invited vendors Billabong, Vitwood, Imbil, Minlacowie, Vale View and

Southern Cross offered 90 packages of Semen. Billabong Godfrey offered by the Billabong

Partnership and Wingfield Boris offered by the Spann Family both met with

spirited bidding which reached $400/straw. Paul & Lisa Laycock, High Country

Droughtmasters, Eskdale secured the Godfrey package while B& V Childs, Glenlands

Droughtmasters operating through Elders Springsure had the final bid on the Boris package.

Underbidder on both lots were David & Elizabeth Spring, Kiverton Droughtmasters, Harlin.

Kiverton went on to purchase packages in Glenlands Immense and

Minlacowie Lexington. Buyers chased the 6 packages on offer in Talgai Chico to a

high of $90/straw, averaging $86/straw for the RSVP stable. Gloria Benson took up

the offer to bid via Elders Toowoomba Representative Andrew Meara and in doing so

was the volume buyer taking home 5 packages. Yackatoon Grazing took 4

packages to average $60/straw.

Operating at the higher end of the market were Paul & Lisa

Laycock who signed off on 4 packages for just over $201/straw. After the

success of this years sale, RSVP Droughtmasters is now looking to secure more top sires to

bolster next years offering.

In an exciting new development the RSVP operation is announcing their intention

to hold a female sale in September 2012.
